Las tres H

Miguel Gordillo, presidente del Consejo Académico de Garrigues habla de las tres haches que ha de tener un buen directivo: “un buen gestor de este tipo de firmas debe tener tres cualidades principales, las tras ‘haches”: honestidad, que incluye el estar dispuesto a dar ejemplo; humildad, porque hay que estar con los pies en la tierra y rodearte de gente muy buena de los que aprender y escuchar; y sentido del humor, porque en estas profesiones, como en otras muchas, hay que ser positivo a la hora de gestionar”.

Coincido totalmente con él. Creo que hay que empezar por la humildad. Me viene a la cabeza un directivo que conozco que está siempre hablando de la humildad...y me recuerda que es virtud para practicar y no tanto para predicar. Bien sabio es el refrán castellano: dime de qué presumes...

Tres consejos para breve charla con un gran jefe

En Harvard Business Review encontré estas tres consejos para una charla breve con un gran jefe.

Having the chance to talk with someone high up in your organization can be a great opportunity to share your ideas and gain exposure. But it can also be nerve wracking — what if you say the wrong thing? Here are three tips for preparing for your next chat with a head honcho:
1) Do your homework. Find out what the senior team's priorities are. Work out a few key points about your projects or career as they relate to what senior leaders care about now.
2) Be brief. Once in front of the senior leader, make your key points succinctly.
3) Read the situation. If the senior leader is not interested, thank her for her time and move on. How you behave is more important than what you say. Yammering on signals a lack of self-awareness.
